Job summary

The Lanes Group in Plymouth is seeking a drainage operative to join a two-person team handling high-spec jetting equipment and vacuumation units across the region. You’ll clear blockages, perform pipe cleansing, and respond to emergencies from the depot, traveling to industrial, rail, utility, commercial and residential sites.

A valid HGV Class 2 licence with minimal points is preferred; a CPC certificate is desirable; you’ll need good data-entry skills and physical fitness for demanding field

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 licence with up to 3 penalty points preferred.
• CPC certificate desirable.
• Competent with laptops/tablets for data entry.
• Physical fitness and high energy.
• CSCS card advantageous if available.

Responsibilities

• Operate jetting equipment and vacuumation units as part of a two-person team.
• Attend drainage jobs including blockage clearance and pipe cleansing; perform emergency reactive works.
• Travel from depot to sites across the region, covering diverse sectors (industrial, rail, utility, commercial, residential).

• Location: Plymouth
  
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (weekend work as and when needed)
• Salary: £14.50 - £15.50 per hour
  

About the role:

You will be part of a two-person team, operating our high specification jetting equipment and vacuumation units. Work Projects, will include any drainage related issues, including blockage clearance, pipe cleansing programmes and emergency reactive works

Although you start at the depot, you will be mobile attending to all work activities, within various work sectors, including industrial, rail, utility, commercial, residential. Travelling in your vehicle you will be covering jobs throughout the region which can involve travel times added in addition.

Experience and qualifications required for the role:

• HGV Class 2 licence, with no more than 3 penalty points ideally
• A Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is desirable
• Competent in using an electronic device – laptop / tablet for data entry.
• Physical fitness and lots of energy.
• An in date CSCS would be advantageous – however this could be obtained if necessary
