Job summary

Amey Ltd in Glasgow is hiring an HGV Driver/Highways Maintenance Operative on a full-time permanent basis. The role involves 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am–4.30pm with a Friday finish and occasional night shifts.

You will contribute to safe roads, reduce accidents, and support winter maintenance and litter removal. Demonstrable experience in roads, an HGV Class 1/2 licence, and strong health and safety awareness are required.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1/2 licence required.
• Experience in roads or street works preferred.
• Good awareness of health and safety regulations is essential.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking highway maintenance tasks including patching, kerbing, ironwork replacement and drainage maintenance.
• Operate and maintain HGVs and small plant machinery with required safety checks.
• Participate in winter and summer standby duties and emergency callouts.
• Ensure safety of self and team and maintain clear communication with Amey staff, sub-contractors, emergency services and clients.
• Keep accurate records and complete necessary paperwork.
