Job summary

Amey is recruiting a Highways Maintenance Operative to work on the Woodside J15 project in Glasgow. The role is a fixed-term contract for at least six months, with a standard 42-hour week and 4 on/4 off shift pattern (12 hours per shift). The salary is competitive and overtime is included.

Responsibilities include patching, kerbing, drainage work and operating HGVs/small plant. Applicants should have roads/street works experience and a UK driving licence; HGV licence is preferred but not

Qualifications

• Experience in roads and/or street works is required.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Demonstrate awareness of Health & Safety regulations.
• Be self-motivated and able to work in a team.
• Winter maintenance experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Undertake highway maintenance tasks including patching, kerbing, ironwork replacement and drainage maintenance.
• Operate and maintain vehicles, including HGVs and small plant, with proper checks.
• Participate in winter and summer standby duties and emergency callouts.
• Prioritise safety for yourself and the team.
• Keep records and liaise with Amey staff, subcontractors, emergency services, clients and customers.
