Job summary

Top Gear Recruitment Solutions is seeking HGV1/LGV1/Class 1/Category C+E drivers for client operations in Wednesbury. The role involves operating heavy goods vehicles, delivering steel products to sites across the UK and handling loads with ratchet straps.

Requirements include a valid HGV1/LGV1/Class One/C+E licence, a current Driver CPC, and a tachograph card. You will typically work up to 3 drops per shift with occasional backloads and variable start times from 01:00 to 23:30.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV1/LGV1/Class 1/Category C+E driving licence.
• Valid and in-date Driver CPC card.
• Valid and in-date digital tachograph card.
• Experience of carrying steel or abnormal loads preferred.
• Proficient in the use of ratchet straps.

Responsibilities

• Drive HGV1/LGV1/Class One/Category C+E vehicles, including flat bed or curtain-sider with sliding roof.
• Deliver steel coil, sheet, tube and bar to sites across the UK using ratchet straps and sheets when required.
• Manage up to 3 drops per shift with backloads.
• Adhere to start times varying from 01:00 to 23:30.

HGV1/LGV1/Class One/Class 1/Category C+E Driver required

Our prestigious client based in Wednesbury are urgently seeking HGV1/LGV1/Class One/Class 1/Category C+E Drivers

As a HGV1/LGV1/Class One/Class 1/Category C+E Driver, your duties will include the following:

• Driving a HGV1/LGV1/Class One/Class 1/Category C+E flat bed/curtain sided vehicle with a sliding roof
• Carrying out deliveries of steel coil, sheet, tube and bar to various sites across the UK using ratchet straps and sheets (When required)
• Maximum 3 x drops plus backloads per shift
• Start times can vary between 0100 up to 2330

The ideal HGV1/LGV1/Class One/Class 1/Category C+E Driver will have the following:

• A valid HGV1/LGV1/Class One/Class 1/Category C+E driving licence
• A valid and in date driver CPC card
• A valid and in date digital tachograph card
• Experience of either carrying steel or if not, abnormal loads
• be proficient in the use of ratchet straps

The successful HGV1/LGV1/Class One/Class 1/Category C+E Driver can expect the following:

• A highly competetive hourly rate of between £19.05 to £20.17 - PAYE
