Job summary

Chelmsford City Council is seeking a fully trained HGV commercial vehicle technician to maintain the Council's fleet to the highest standards. The role is based in the well-equipped workshop at Freighter House, Boreham, and requires a strong commercial vehicle background with training provided as appropriate.

The successful candidate will have completed an apprenticeship or equivalent and hold City and Guilds Parts 1, 2 and 3 in Motor Vehicle Technology, plus a HGV/LGV Class 2 license.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Possess City and Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3 in Motor Vehicle Technology.
• HGV/LGV Class 2/Category C Driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Council's fleet to the highest standards.
• Work at the well-equipped workshop at Freighter House, Boreham; 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
• Flexibility within the role and ability to adapt to priorities.
