Job summary

Derby City Council’s Fleet Services team is seeking an LCV Technician to maintain a varied fleet of light commercial vehicles across the City. You’ll service, repair and diagnose vehicles, with the opportunity to develop towards an HGV Technician through fully funded training.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Levels 1, 2 and 3 (or equivalent NVQ) in Light Commercial Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Previous experience maintaining and repairing Light Commercial Vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills.
• Willingness to participate in the out‑of‑hours standby rota.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing Light Commercial Vehicles.
• Diagnostics and fault finding.
• Repairing electrical and hydraulic systems where required.
• Accurately completing inspection, maintenance and repair records.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, compliance and vehicle safety.
• Helping to keep the Council's essential fleet safe, reliable and available for service.
