Job summary

Smart Solutions in Birmingham is recruiting for a seasonal Class 2 Road Sweeper Driver to support leafing and autumn waste collection. The role operates Monday to Friday, 6:00am–2:00pm, 37.5 hours per week, at a pay rate of £16.06 per hour.

The ideal candidate will safely sweep roads, collect leaves, and help maintain public areas during autumn. Responsibilities include operating the Road Sweeper across Birmingham, performing daily vehicle checks, and adhering to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Full UK Class 2 (Category C) driving licence is required.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification is required.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card is required.
• Previous Class 2 driving experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 2 Road Sweeper across Birmingham area.
• Collect leaves and autumn waste from roads and designated areas.
• Transport waste to disposal site.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Follow company, site and health and safety procedures.

Smart Solutions are currently recruiting for Class 2 Road Sweeper Drivers to join a seasonal leafing and autumn waste collection team in Birmingham.

This is a great opportunity for a reliable and experienced Class 2 Driver looking for regular weekday daytime work during the autumn season.

The Role

You will be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 Road Sweeper across the Birmingham area, clearing leaves and seasonal waste from roads, paths and designated areas.

You will play an important role in keeping public areas clean, safe and well maintained throughout the autumn season.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 2 Road Sweeper vehicle across the Birmingham area.
• Collect leaves, fallen foliage and autumn waste from roads, paths and designated areas.
• Transport collected waste to the appropriate disposal site.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects or issues.
• Follow all company, site and health and safety procedures.
• Complete daily collection schedules safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a professional approach when working in public areas.
• Work effectively as part of a team and communicate with colleagues throughout the day.

Requirements

• Full UK Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous Class 2 driving experience preferred.
• Road sweeper experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Good knowledge of the Birmingham area is advantageous.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Positive attitude towards health and safety.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
