Job summary

Smart Solutions is recruiting for a seasonal Class 2 Driver in Birmingham to join the autumn leafing and waste collection team. You will drive a Class 2 vehicle and work with loaders to collect leaves and waste in designated areas.

Regular weekday daytime work, with shifts 6:00am–2:00pm, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Safety and teamwork are emphasised, with a strong focus on outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Full UK Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous Class 2 driving experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of the Birmingham area is advantageous.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Positive attitude towards health and safety.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 2 vehicle across the Birmingham area
• Work closely with a team of loaders throughout the day
• Collect leaves and autumn waste from roads, paths and designated areas
• Transport collected waste to the appropriate disposal site
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
• Follow all health and safety procedures
• Complete daily collection schedules efficiently
• Work as part of a team in an outdoor environment
