Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council's Neighbourhood Services in Aylesbury is seeking an HGV Class 2 Driver Team Leader to oversee a Waste & Recycling crew on a 44.25-hour week, with an immediate start and a route through Buckinghamshire.

The role combines hands-on driving with team leadership, ensuring safe collections and high performance while maintaining health and safety standards. A valid HGV Class 2 licence and Driver CPC are essential, with prior supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• A valid HGV Class 2 driving licence is required.
• A valid Driver CPC qualification is required.
• Experience driving HGV Class 2 vehicles is essential.
• Experience leading or supervising a team is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive and operate a refuse collection vehicle.
• Lead and support the collection crew throughout the day.
• Ensure work is carried out to health and safety procedures.
• Monitor safe working practices and promote a positive safety culture.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
