Job summary

GXO is hiring an experienced HGV Class 2 (Cat C) driver to join our delivery team at the Dunstable distribution centre. This full-time, permanent role offers 40.25 hours per week on a 4 on 4 off shift, with start times between 02:00 and 07:00 and an annual salary of £36,024.42.

You will perform multi-drop deliveries, secure loads, complete paperwork, provide excellent customer service, and take part in CPC training.

Qualifications

• Full UK Category C (Class 2) licence with digital tachograph card and CPC
• No more than 6 penalty points on licence (no DD, DR, DG, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT)
• Previous multidrop/store deliveries preferred
• Excellent customer service skills, written and verbal
• Good geographical knowledge; London driving experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate, timely, and safe multi-drop orders within delivery windows
• Deliver totes to retail locations, offload, complete paperwork, and handle returns/waste
• Secure loads correctly and follow safety practices to minimise damage
• Provide excellent customer service and report vehicle defects as needed

Here at GXO we are offering the opportunity for highly experienced Class 2 Lorry Drivers to join our delivery team out of our Dunstable distribution centre, LU5 5TA, for a large retail client.

You’ll be working on a full-time, permanent basis, working 40.25 hours per week on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern. Start times between 02:00 and 07:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day

• Ensure accurate, timely, and safe delivery of customer products, including multi-drop deliveries within agreed delivery windows
• Delivering totes to retail locations, offload goods correctly, complete signed paperwork, and collect any agreed returns or waste
• Follow all safe working practices, including correctly securing loads to minimise damage and always ensure safety
• Provide excellent customer service, report vehicle defects to the Transport Office, and attend required training to fulfil the driver role effectively

What you need to succeed at GXO

• A full valid UK CATEGORY Class 2 licence, with valid digital tachograph card and driver CPC
• No more than 6 penalty points on your licence (no DD, DR, DG, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT endorsements)
• Previous experience in multidrop, store deliveries preferable but not essential
• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal
• Must have a good geographical knowledge, experience of driving in London is preferred
