Job summary

Solvit Recruitment are currently looking for an HGV Class 2 Driver for a local authority contract in Coventry. You will drive a refuse collection vehicle and complete required paperwork while ensuring safety and compliance.

Role is Monday–Friday with start times from 07:00 to 16:45, offering weekly pay and an on-site working environment. An informal interview and driving assessment will determine suitability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Class 2 driving experience.
• Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Understand Health & Safety requirements.
• No DR, DD, TT, IN within last 5 years.
• Work references available on request.

Responsibilities

• Drive a refuse collection vehicle for the local authority.
• Follow site safety instructions at landfill sites and recycling sites.
• Complete necessary paperwork and maintain delivery records.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Solvit Recruitment are currently looking for a HGV Class 2 Drivers.

This is a great opportunity if you are looking for family life balance, no nights or weekends.

Working week Monday to Friday, which will be a planned in advance.

This is an on-going role through Solvit Recruitment.

Working 4 out of 5 days per week, which will be planned for you, 37 hours per week.

You will have an informal interview and driving assessment.

Start times from 07:00 with the latest finish time of 16:45.

We are working with a local authority who are looking for an HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver; you will drive a refuse collection vehicle supplied by the Authority to carry out designated duties. These duties are to ensure that all waste streams (including Trade Waste) are collected.

We will require an up to date CV for this position.

Pay rate is £14.82 per hour or Rolled up £16.61.

PPE supplied on site, but you will need your own safety boots.

Requirements

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Understand Health & Safety.
• Comply with all Site Safety Instructions relating to all landfill sites, waste transfer stations and recycling merchant sites.
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication oral and written.
• Complete necessary paperwork and maintain accurate records of deliveries.
• Minimum 1 years' experience driving Class 2.
• No DR, DD, TT, IN and not served any bans in the last 5 years.
• Work references will be required.
