Job summary

Lockwood Group is recruiting experienced HGV drivers for shifts based from S&R Smith and Son, RM20 4EL, Thurrock. The role involves general haulage, delivering goods and maintaining high customer service levels. Nights, Monday to Friday, with a 44-hour weekly guarantee.

The position offers a permanent contract with paid holidays, pension and continuous training opportunities including ADR and CPC courses. Pay is £17.00 per hour with overtime and referral bonuses available.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified HGV Class 1 (C+E) driver with a CPC, valid Digi card and knowledge of Tachograph and WTD rules.
• Reliable and punctual with a flexible approach.
• Good verbal communication and professional customer service.
• Previous Class 1 experience preferred but not essential.

Job description

Established in 1965, the Lockwood Group is a family run business and currently has over 400 employees spanning 8 UK sites. The group’s activities include UK haulage and storage, frozen food production and co-packing solutions.

S&R Smith and Son, West Thurrock (part of the Lockwood Group of Companies) specialise in general haulage & distribution in and around the South East of England.

New business developments on the horizon are allowing us to recruit experienced HGV drivers. We are looking for drivers to be based from S&R Smith and Son, RM20 4EL.

Shift Pattern:

Monday - Friday Nights

Hours:

44 hours guarenteed pay per week, based on a full time working week. Salary range based on on target earnings. Hours may vary in accordance with business needs and reasonable additional hours may be required.

Rate:

£17.00 per hour

The Role

• General Haulage

Ideally the candidates would meet the following requirements:
