Lockwood Group Ltd is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 drivers for roles based from S&R Smith and Son, RM20 4EL. The position offers nights, a 44-hour week, and a permanent contract with guaranteed hours.

You will operate on general haulage duties, delivering goods and maintaining high levels of customer service while coordinating with the Transport team. Training is available for CPC and other licences, with a supportive fleet and pension plan.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified HGV Class 1 (C+E) driver with CPC and a valid Digi card.
• Good understanding of Tachograph and WTD rules.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible with strong customer service skills.
• Previous Class 1 experience preferred but not essential.

Established in 1965, the Lockwood Group is a family run business and currently has over 400employees spanning 8UK sites. The group’s activities include UK haulage and storage, frozen food production and co-packing solutions.

S&R Smith and Son, West Thurrock (part of the Lockwood Group of Companies) specialise in general haulage & distribution in and around the South East of England.

New business developments on the horizon are allowing us to recruit experienced HGV drivers.We are looking for drivers to be based from S&R Smith and Son, RM20 4EL.

Shift Pattern:Monday - Friday Nights

Hours:44 hours guarenteed pay per week, based on a full time working week. Salary range based on on target earnings. Hours may vary in accordance with business needs and reasonable additional hours may be required.

Rate: £17.00per hour

Other bonuses: Early start bonus & night out allowance

The Role

• General Haulage

Ideally the candidates would meet the following requirements:

• Candidates will be a fully qualified HGV Class 1 (C+E) driver with a CPC, valid Digi card and a good understanding of Tachograph and WTD rules.

• Good verbal communication with excellent customer service skills and a professional approach
• Previous Class 1 experience is preferred but not essential.
