Lockwood Group is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 driver to join S&R Smith and Son, based from RM20 4EL in West Thurrock. The role involves general haulage, delivering goods, and maintaining strong customer service from Monday to Friday days.

The successful candidate will hold a CPC, Digi card, and have a good understanding of Tachograph/WTD rules. A permanent contract is offered with paid holidays, pension, and overtime opportunities.

Formación

• Fully qualified HGV Class 1 (C+E) driver with CPC, Digi card and good Tachograph/WTD knowledge.
• Reliable and punctual with a flexible approach.
• Excellent verbal communication and professional customer service.
• Previous Class 1 experience preferred but not essential.

Established in 1965, the Lockwood Group is a family run business and currently has over 400 employees spanning 8 UK sites. The group’s activities include UK haulage and storage, frozen food production and co-packing solutions.

S&R Smith and Son, West Thurrock (part of the Lockwood Group of Companies) specialise in general haulage & distribution in and around the South East of England.

New business developments on the horizon are allowing us to recruit experienced HGV drivers. We are looking for drivers to be based from S&R Smith and Son, RM20 4EL.

Shift Pattern:

Monday - Friday Days

Hours:

44 hours guarenteed pay per week based on a full working week. Salary range based on on target earnings, average 60 hours per week. Hours may vary in accordance with business needs and reasonable additional hours may be required.

Rate:

£16.00 per hour

Other bonuses:

The Role

• General Haulage
• To maintain excellent levels customer service

• Candidates will be a fully qualified HGV Class 1 (C+E) driver with a CPC, valid Digi card and a good understanding of Tachograph and WTD rules.
• You will be reliable and punctual and have a flexible approach
• Good verbal communication with excellent customer service skills and a professional approach
• Previous Class 1 experience is preferred but not essential.
