Job summary

Lockwood Group Ltd is seeking an HGV Class 1 Driver (Afternoons) to join our growing transport team in the UK. The role runs Monday to Friday afternoons, delivering general haulage with a modern fleet and full training provided.

We offer a £42,900 basic salary plus a performance bonus up to £2,400 per year, plus benefits including funded CPC training, pension, 28 days' leave, on-site parking and ongoing career development.

Qualifications

• Must-have HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence and valid CPC.
• Good understanding of Drivers' Hours regulations and tachograph rules.
• Reliable, professional and safety-conscious with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver general haulage safely and efficiently.
• Work Monday to Friday afternoon shifts.
• Operate driver tech and perform walk-around checks with training provided.
• Deliver excellent customer service at collection and delivery points.
• Maintain clear communication with the Transport Team and ensure on-time deliveries.

As our business continues to expand, we're looking for professional HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join our team on Monday to Friday afternoon shift.

Whether you're an experienced driver or you've recently passed your Class 1 test, we'd love to hear from you. Our dedicated Driver Assessors and Mentors will provide the support and training you need to succeed.

Pay & Benefits

£165.00 per shift.

Shifts willpredomenently to start around 14:00/15:00 each day, subject to business requirements. Average of 48 hours per week, calculated over a 26 week reference period.

The Role

As one of our professional drivers, you'll play a key role in delivering outstanding service to our customers by:

• Completing general haulage deliveries safely and efficiently
• Working Monday to Friday afternoonshifts
• Operating the latest driver technology, including electronic PODs and digital walk-around checks (full training provided)
• Delivering exceptional customer service at every collection and delivery
• Maintaining clear communication with our Transport Team
• Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely, professionally and on time

What We're Looking For

• HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Good understanding of Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
• Reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Previous Class 1 experience is desirable, but newly qualified drivers are encouraged to apply
