Job summary

The Lockwood Group is seeking professional and motivated HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join our expanding team at William West & Sons, part of the Lockwood Group. The role offers training, support, and career development opportunities to help you succeed in a busy transport operation.

We operate across multiple UK locations, with a focus on safe driving, high standards of customer service, and ongoing professional development through ADR/FLT training and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence required.
• Driver CPC qualification essential.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Good understanding of Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive.

Responsibilities

• Drive general haulage loads with modern vehicles.
• Deliver goods safely, efficiently and professionally.
• Provide excellent customer service at all times.
• Communicate clearly and timely with the Transport Team.

Pay & Benefits

Range based on the below:

Minimum of 44 hours per week (basic):

£31,574.40 (£13.80 per hour)

Average of 55 hours per week:

£39,468.00

• 44hour basic week: £607.20 – additional hours may be required to suit business needs

The Role

• Monday to Friday day shifts
• General haulage work
• Operating modern vehicles equipped with the latest technology
• Delivering goods safely, efficiently, and professionally
• Providing excellent customer service at all times
• Maintaining clear and timely communication with our Transport Team
