Job summary

Culina Transport is hiring permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join our team at the Unilever site in Leeds for our general haulage operation, delivering to stores and distribution centres across the region. The role is full-time with a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, and night work is also available.

Salary ranges from £15.15 to £18.96 per hour, plus a £5 per shift meal allowance. You will need a valid C+E licence, up to 6 points, a DCPC and Tachograph cards, and at least 6 months of Class 1 experience.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E licence.
• Minimum 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• No more than 6 points on licence; no DD/DR convictions.
• DCPC & Tachograph cards are required.
• Understand Driver's hours and WTD regulations.
• Ability to complete vehicle checks and report defects.

Responsibilities

• General Haulage with curtainside trailers to distribution centres and stores.
• Support general work including occasional store deliveries and loading/unloading cages.
• Complete vehicle checks and ensure documentation is accurate.
• Maintain safety, compliance and professionalism at all times.
• Work closely with transport team to ensure smooth operations.
• Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD and tachograph legislation.

Job description

We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at our customer Site Unilever in Leeds, for our General Haulage operation, completing store and RDC deliveries across the region. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards.

The role is full time, working on a permanent basis and will be working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern and we have opportunities working Nights:

Day Shift 06:00

Pay Rates:

We have increased our pay rates , with rates now ranging from £15,15 to £18.96 per hour , depending on shift - giving you even more reason to build your driving career with us.

• Mon-Fri Days - £15.15 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday Days - £18.15 per hour
• Bank Holidays - £18.96 per hour.

On top of base salary our HGV Drivers will be entitled to £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance

Driver Responsibilities:

• General Haulage with Curtainside trailers, to Distribution Centres and Stores
• Supporting General work, including occasional store deliveries and requirement to load and unload cages
• Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
• Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
• Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
• Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation.

You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions. Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards. Understand and able to comply with Driver's hours and WTD legislation. Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly. Should comply on-site health and safety requirements. Excellent communication skills.
