People Solutions are recruiting an HGV Class 1 Driver for a client in West Bromwich, West Midlands. The role offers excellent hourly rates, ongoing work, and opportunities for progression within a leading logistics operation.

Ideal candidates have a valid UK Category CE licence, CPC card, and experience; shifts include early starts, with weekend work and potential bank holidays. Training and on-site facilities are provided.

Qualifications

• A valid UK Category CE Driving Licence.
• Minimum of twelve months' Category CE driving experience.
• A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than six penalty points and no major endorsement codes.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability.
• Knowledge of road transport legislation.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Complete RDC and store deliveries.
• Deliver cages to distribution centres and supermarkets.
• Complete up to two drops per shift.
• Carry out pre-use and post-use vehicle inspections.
• Ensure loads are loaded and secured.
• Comply with Driver Hours Regulations and the Working Time Directive.
• Communicate effectively with transport teams and customers.
• Report vehicle defects and maintenance promptly.
• Assist with loading and unloading duties when required.

HGV Class 1 Driver - West Bromwich

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in West Bromwich, West Midlands.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression with a leading logistics operation.

This role would suit candidates with experience as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driverr or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• £17.20 per hour (basic rate)
• £20.00 per hour after 20:00 (Monday to Saturday)
• £22.00 per hour (Sunday)
• £31.73 per hour (Bank Holidays)
• Minimum 9.75 hours paid per day

Shift Pattern:

• Thursday to Monday
• Weekend work required
• Start times between 03:00 and 04:00

Day-to-Day Duties:

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will work:

• Operating Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently
• Completing RDC and store deliveries
• Delivering cages to distribution centres and supermarkets
• Completing up to two drops per shift
• Carrying out pre-use and post-use vehicle inspections
• Ensuring loads are correctly loaded and secured
• Complying with Driver Hours Regulations, the Working Time Directive, and UK road traffic legislation
• Communicating effectively with transport teams and customers
• Reporting vehicle defects and maintenance issues promptlyAssisting with loading and unloading duties where required

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
• A minimum of twelve months' Category CE driving experience
• A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences and no major endorsement codes
• A good standard of spoken and written English
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability
• A good understanding of road transport legislation
• Strong communication skills

Training:

• Driver assessment required before commencement
• Paid induction provided
• Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
• Previous commercial driving experience would be advantageous
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience would be beneficial
