People Solutions are recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our client in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. Earn £17.28 per hour base, with overtime at £21.60, and guaranteed minimum paid hours. Start times range from 15:00 to 19:00, Monday to Friday, with weekly pay and ongoing opportunities for progression.

The role involves RDC and brewery deliveries using curtain-side gear, ensuring loads are secured and all tachograph paperwork is completed. Training and induction are provided on start.

Qualifications

• UK CE licence and CPC/Digital Tachograph cards required.
• Minimum 12 months Class 1 driving experience.
• No more than six penalty points, no major endorsements.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability.
• Safe driving with knowledge of traffic laws.

Responsibilities

• Carry out RDC and brewery deliveries with curtain-side vehicles.
• Operate Class 1 (CE) vehicles safely.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Ensure loads are loaded and secured properly.
• Adhere to traffic laws and communicate with dispatch.
• Complete paperwork and tachograph records.

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, guaranteed minimum paid hours, no handball, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.

This position would be suitable for applicants who have previously worked as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• £17.28 per hour basic rate
• Overtime paid at £21.60 per hour
• Minimum 9.5 hours paid per shift
• No break deductions

Shift Pattern:

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will work:

• Monday to Friday
• Start times between 15:00 and 19:00

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Driver are:

• Carrying out RDC and brewery deliveries using curtain-side vehicles with no handball required
• Operating Class 1 (Category CE) vehicles safely and efficiently
• Completing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all loads are loaded and secured correctly
• Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
• Communicating effectively with dispatch teams and customers
• Reporting vehicle defects and maintenance requirements
• Completing all relevant paperwork and tachograph records accurately

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
• A valid UK Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• A minimum of 12 months' Class 1 driving experience
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences with no major endorsement codes
• A good level of spoken and written English
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability
• A good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
• Professional communication skills and a positive attitude
