Job summary

Resolve Recruitment is seeking HGV Class 1 drivers for day shifts in Newport. You will join a respected logistics provider known for safety, reliability, and driver support, delivering across the UK with regular routes and ongoing work.

Applicants should have at least 18 months of Class 1 driving experience, a valid UK C+E licence, Driver CPC, and digital tachograph card. A strong focus on time management and independent working is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Valid UK C+E (Class 1) licence with minimal or no penalty points.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum 18 months’ HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• General haulage experience preferred but not essential.
• Good knowledge of UK roads and transport legislation.
• Strong time management and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Safely complete deliveries and collections across the UK in line with planned schedules
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly
• Accurately complete delivery paperwork, driving hours, and tachograph records
• Liaise with the transport team regarding delays, route updates, or operational issues
• Ensure loads are safely secured and compliant with transport regulations
• Maintain a professional approach and provide excellent customer service at all times
