Job summary

The Lockwood Group is seeking professional HGV Class 1 (C+E) Day Drivers to join our Ambergate team. We operate a modern fleet, offer comprehensive training, and are an Earned Recognition DVSA operator.

Roles include a 4 on/4 off day rotation, average 48 hours weekly, and general haulage duties with tech-enabled checks. New drivers are welcome and will receive full mentorship and CPC training support.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Valid CPC.
• Valid Digi card.
• Good understanding of Tachograph and WTD rules.
• Reliable, punctual, flexible with strong communication and customer service skills.
• Previous Class 1 experience preferred but not essential.
• Newly passed Class 1 HGV drivers welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Schedule: 4 on/4 off rotation (days).
• Hours: Average of 48 hours per week over a 26 week reference period.
• Work Type: General Haulage.
• Tech-Driven: Use of latest technology including electronic POD devices and electronic walk-around checks with full training provided.
• Maintain excellent customer service and timely, professional delivery; ensure accurate, timely communication with the Transport team.

We are currently looking for professional HGV Class 1 (C+E) Day Drivers to join our Ambergate team. We operate a modern fleet of premium brand vehicles, offer fantastic training opportunities, and are proud to be a DVSA Earned Recognition operator.

What You Can Earn

• Daily Shift Rate: £185.00 per shift
• Weekly Rate: £647.50 basic per week. Paid on a consistent average of 3.5 shifts per week. Because of the rolling rotation, some weeks (Sunday-Saturday) will contain 3 working days and others will contain 4, smoothing out your income.
• Additional shifts: £185.00 per shift
• Performance Bonus: Graded driver performance bonus (Grade A-D) worth up to £2,400.00 per annum

The Role

What You Need

• Qualifications: Fully qualified HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, valid CPC, and valid Digi card

• Attributes: Reliable, punctual, flexible, with good verbal communication and excellent customer service skills
• Experience: Previous Class 1 experience is preferred but not essential.
