Job summary

Veolia UK seeks a driver to join the Hertfordshire East Transfer Station team. You will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with a 5am start, collecting waste from local sites and supporting a modern transfer operation near Ware.

Salary is £21.65 per hour with Veolia benefits and overtime on a rota, plus a comprehensive benefits package. The role offers 20 days annual leave, pension access, and health resources, with ongoing training to reach full potential.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Up to date CPC and Digi / Tachograph card.

Responsibilities

• Collecting waste from Waterdale, Ware and Hitchin sites to disposal locations.
• Transfer station will receive kerbside waste and recycling materials and support early delivery of zero waste to landfill.

What will you be doing?

With one of the largest growing fleets in the UK, our drivers are pivotal to delivering essential services. They work hard to serve their local communities and make a positive impact every day.

You will be collecting waste from Waterdale, Ware and Hitchin sites to disposal locations

Once operational, the transfer station will receive kerbside waste and recycling materials from the surrounding areas, while a bulky waste shredding facility will assist in early delivery of the council’s ambition to send zero waste to landfill by 2030. The building will be equipped with modern noise and odour controls, ensuring minimal impact on the surrounding areas.
