Job summary

Driver Hire Colchester & Sudbury are currently recruiting for Class 1 and Class 2 HGV Drivers to join our team. Our clients are based across the CO postcode area, Colchester, Sudbury, etc. They require drivers to cover busy periods, sickness and holiday.

This a temporary, adhoc role, with part-time shifts available initially and potential for full-time shifts. Immediate start available. Pay rates: Class 2 from £16.25 p/h, Class 1 from £17.37 p/h on weekdays; nights £21-£23 p/h. PAYE only.

Qualifications

• Must have own transport to travel to work.
• Valid Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) licence with CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 penalty points (no DD/DR endorsements).
• Able to work with paper-based and PDA-based delivery systems.
• PPE including steel toe cap boots; Hi-Vis provided.

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle checks and ensure tachograph/compliance.
• Maintain professional, customer-focused approach.
• Trunking, general haulage, curtain siders, flat bed, refrigerated trailers.
• Local and regional deliveries with varying start times.

Class 1 LGV shifts pay rate starts at £17.37 p/h weekday, Monday to Friday day work,

Nights £21.00 - £23.00 p/h

PAYE only - not umbrella - not LTD

Job Details:

• Variety and flexibility. Opportunities to work for a variety of clients, no two weeks are the same. Choose your availabilty on a weekly bases and pick up work when it suits you.
• Start times vary 04:00 and 07:00 AM.
• Mainly Monday to Friday Day work, however nights are available
• Trunking, General haulage, Curtain siders, Flat bed, Refrigerated trailers, Builders merchants, palletised deliveries ETC
• Local and regional deliveries,
• Completing vehicle checks and ensuring full compliance with tachograph and driving regulations
• Maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach

Requirements:

• 2 yrs experience preferred but not essential
