Job summary

Driver Link Training Ltd is seeking a HGV Class 1 Driver based in Skelmersdale. You will deliver Third Party products, maintain paperwork, and adhere to tachograph and WTD rules. The role includes shift rotations and a focus on safety and compliance.

The successful candidate will hold a valid Class 1 licence, Digital Tachograph card, and Driver CPC. Training for tachograph and WTD rules is provided, and the company offers a supportive environment with career development.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 Licence (CE) is required.
• Digital Tachograph card is required.
• Driver CPC (DQC) is required.
• No DD or IN codes on your licence for insurance purposes.
• Excellent knowledge of Tachograph and working time directive rules (Training available).
• Good geographical knowledge (route maps provided).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Great time keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Third Party products to specified locations with correct delivery paperwork.
• Comply with Tachograph and Working Time Directive rules.
• Follow SSOWs, health & safety policies and hygiene standards.
• Ensure PODs are signed and returned to Transport Office.
• Move deliveries accurately and on time.
• Load securing compliance per training.
• Vehicle checks and defect reporting per training.
• Maintain safe working practices for you and others.
• Strive for fuel efficiency targets set by the company.
• Perform any other duties as reasonably required.

Job Description

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: Depending on experience

Base: Skelmersdale, West Lancashire (WN8)

Day Shifts: Shift start times vary from 02:00 on a 4 on 4 off basis.

Night Shifts: Shift start times vary from 14:00 on a 4 on 4 off basis.

Key Responsibilities

• To deliver Third Party products to specified locations, ensuring correct paperwork for the delivery.
• Always adhere to Tachograph and WTD rules and regulations
• Observe and adhere to company policies and procedures, including all aspects of SSOWs, health & safety, and hygiene
• Ensure proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned to the Transport Office
• Responsible for the accurate, timely movement of deliveries
• Ensuring compliant load securing (as per training)
• Ensuring absolute compliance in vehicle checks and defect reporting (as per training)
• Adhering to safe working practice to always ensure the safety of yourself and others
• Achieve and succeed fuel efficiency targets set by the company
• Any other duties as reasonably required
