Job summary

DCS Recruitment in Manchester is seeking a reliable Class 1 HGV Driver to join our growing logistics operation. This permanent, full-time role offers a 45-hour week with day and night shifts, and immediate start opportunities to support UK deliveries.

You will drive, load and unload where required, and work closely with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely, compliant deliveries. FLT training is available and overtime may apply.

Responsibilities

• Deliver customer orders on schedule across the UK.
• Complete multi-drop deliveries and handball pallets when required.
• Load, pack and secure vehicles and carry out daily vehicle checks.
• Maintain compliance with transport and health & safety regulations.
• Complete delivery paperwork and assist warehouse operations as needed.

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to join our busy logistics operation in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a professional and safety-focused transport team delivering products to customers across the UK.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Class 1 Driver, you will play a key role in ensuring customer deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time. Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering customer orders in line with schedules and service standards.
• Completing multi-drop deliveries throughout the UK.
• Carrying out handballing and unloading of palletised goods when required.
• Loading, packing, and securing vehicles safely.
• Conducting daily vehicle checks and ensuring roadworthiness.
• Maintaining compliance with transport and health & safety regulations.
• Completing delivery paperwork and warehouse administration accurately.
• Supporting warehouse operations when required.
• Operating Forklift Truck (FLT) equipment where trained.
• Working closely with the logistics and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.

Shift Pattern

This role operates on a rotating day and night shift basis:

Day Shift

• Start Time: 7:30am
• 9-hour shift

Night Shift

• Start Time: 5:30pm
• 9-hour shift

Overtime available, dependent on operational requirements, traffic conditions, and road closures.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Valid HGV Class 1 Licence
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Strong commitment to safety and customer service
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Physical capability to undertake manual handling duties

Desirable

• Previous warehouse experience
• FLT experience (training can be provided)
• Experience with multi-drop deliveries
