Job summary

Montgomery Transport Group in Preston is seeking reliable Class 1 drivers for fixed night shifts. You will deliver a range of goods, complete daily vehicle checks, and maintain high safety and service standards across a modern fleet.

Qualifications

• Class 1 (C+E) licence with a valid CPC and Digi card.
• No more than 6 points and NO DND.
• Minimum 1 year Class 1 experience.
• Previous commercial driving experience and good geographical knowledge.
• Experience of completing vehicle checks in/out sheets.

Responsibilities

• Transport and deliver goods to customers efficiently and on time.
• Follow delivery routes and communicate location and ETA clearly.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external clients.
• Drive company vehicles safely and in compliance with road regulations.
• Conduct daily vehicle and trailer inspections with accurate documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles inside and out.
• Fixed Night shifts with consistent work and planning.
• Home at the end of each shift - no tramping or nights out.
• Adhere to Health and Safety regulations and site policies.

• Follow assigned delivery routes and communicate your location and estimated arrival times clearly.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
• Drive company vehicles safely, responsibly, and in compliance with road regulations
• Conduct daily vehicle and trailer inspections, ensuring all relevant documentation is accurately completed.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles, both inside and out.
• Fixed Night shifts with consistent work and planning.
• Home at the end of each shift - no tramping or nights out.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations, as well as relevant legislation and site‑specific policies.

Ideal Candidate

• Class 1 (C+E) licence holders with a valid CPC and Digi card
• No more than 6 points and NO DND.
• Minimum 1 year Class 1 experience (due to insurance)
• Reliable drivers who take pride in their work and keep things moving
• Flexibility to support the operation when required
• You must have previous commercial driving experience and good geographical knowledge.
• Experience of fully completing vehicle check in and checkout sheets.
