Driver Hire Edinburgh City are recruiting reliable HGV Drivers for a poultry industry client in the Scottish Borders. The role covers multi-drop collections, loading with pallet trucks and tail lifts, and daily vehicle checks.

All successful candidates will complete a full day of paid training before starting and have the potential for temp-to-perm opportunities, with early morning shifts and guaranteed 8-hour blocks.

Qualificações

• HGV driving experience with multi-drop collections.
• Strong focus on health and safety in a live transport environment.
• Experience with loading/unloading using pallet trucks and tail lifts.

Responsabilidades

• Drive HGV vehicles safely and professionally.
• Complete multi-drop collections throughout the day.

• Ensure loads are secured for transport and report defects.

Looking for ongoing driving work with the opportunity to secure a permanent position?

Driver Hire Edinburgh City are currently recruiting reliable and experienced HGV Drivers for a well-established client operating within the poultry industry.

The Role

Your duties will include:

• Driving HGV vehicles safely and professionally
• Completing multi-drop collections throughout the day
• Loading and unloading using both manual and electric pallet trucks
• Operating and using a tail lift safely and efficiently
• Conducting thorough daily vehicle safety checks before commencing work
• Following all transport legislation and company procedures
• Completing collection paperwork accurately
• Ensuring loads are secured correctly for transport
• Washing and fuelling vehicles at the end of shifts using the client's onsite facilities
• Providing excellent customer service at collection sites
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and biosecurity

Training

All successful candidates must complete a full day of paid training before undertaking any driving duties.

Candidates must successfully complete the training and induction process before starting work with the client.

Working Hours

• Minimum 8-hour shifts guaranteed
• Early morning starts
• Opportunity to move into a temp-to-perm position
• Regular work available for the right candidate
• Additional shifts available based on client requirements

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding role involving regular manual handling throughout the day.

Applicants must be:

• Physically fit and comfortable with regular lifting and moving of goods
• Confident using tail lifts
• Experienced using both manual and electric pallet trucks
• Comfortable working outdoors and across multiple collection sites
• Able to handle a fast-paced workload safely and efficiently

What We're Looking For

• Valid UK HGV Licence
• Valid Driver CPC
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous commercial driving experience
• Experience using tail lifts
• Experience using both manual and electric pallet trucks
• Good understanding of vehicle checks and defect reporting
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties
• Reliable, punctual and professional attitude
• Strong focus on health & safety
• Willingness to follow strict bird flu biosecurity procedures
• Ability to complete a full day training course before starting
