Job summary

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Southam, Warwickshire. This role offers excellent hourly rates (£17.00 per hour for Monday to Friday), ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for long-term career development with weekly pay and industry-related training provided.

Key duties include completing Class 1 trunking runs and trailer swaps, ensuring loads are secured and that driver hours are recorded accurately.

Qualifications

• A valid UK Category CE Driving Licence.
• A minimum of 24 months' HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• A valid CPC qualification card.
• A valid digital tachograph card.
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Excellent knowledge of driver hours and Working Time Regulations.
• A reliable and professional approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Completing Class 1 trunking runs and trailer swaps.
• Operating Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Ensuring compliance with all road traffic legislation and company procedures.
• Conducting vehicle safety checks before and after each shift.
• Communicating effectively with transport planners, dispatch teams and customers.
• Reporting vehicle defects, incidents and maintenance requirements promptly.
• Ensuring all loads are secured correctly and transported safely.
• Maintaining accurate driving and tachograph records.
• Delivering a professional and reliable service at all times.

This would suit applicants who have worked as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay:
