Job summary

Evri in Manchester is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our expanding fleet. You will drive a Volvo lorry, with a modern cab, and carry out daily checks, route planning, and on-time deliveries across our network.

Shifts are Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week, typically starting at 7–8am. A valid Class 1 licence and Driver CPC are required; full training and ongoing support are provided.

Qualifications

• Class 1 driving licence required.
• Driver CPC qualification card required.
• Completed DCPC training hours or actively working towards them.
• Excellent knowledge of road transport laws and safety.

Responsibilities

• Drive a lorry from our Volvo fleet, ensuring timely deliveries to customers.
• Load/unload at sites where required and scan consignments.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily and file defect reports if needed.
• Plan routes and manage stops efficiently to achieve 4–6 stops per shift.

WhatYou’llDo:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and 9-hour shifts per day which typically start at 7/8am. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes. The average number of stops in a shift is 4 to 6, sothere’splenty of time to enjoy being out on the open road - butyou’llstill be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
