Job summary

Simarco International is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Container Driver for a fixed Monday-Friday night shift in Witham, Essex. The role involves container collections and deliveries between the Port and the Witham depot, plus direct customer deliveries as required.

You will conduct daily vehicle checks, ensure roadworthiness, and complete inspection reports. A CPC and Digital Tacho Card are essential, with RHIDES beneficial; safety and regulatory compliance are priorities.

Qualifications

• Driver CPC and Digital Tacho Card are mandatory.
• Experience in container collections and deliveries is essential.
• RHIDES card would be beneficial.
• Strong focus on safety and compliance.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility.
• Good understanding of Drivers' Hours and transport regulations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out container collections and deliveries between the Port and Witham depot, plus direct customer deliveries.
• Conduct daily vehicle and trailer checks and ensure roadworthiness.
• Complete pre-drive inspection reports accurately.
• Ensure loads are distributed safely and legally.
• Drive responsibly with consideration for other road users.
• Maintain vehicle to a clean, professional standard and follow safety procedures.

Salary: £51,974 per annum

Hours: Full-Time / 50 hours per week (Night shift)

Key Skills and Qualifications to succeed in this role:

• Driver CPC and Digital Tacho Card
