Job summary

Simarco International in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a reliable Counterbalance Forklift Driver for our night shift. You will be responsible for safe receipt, storage and dispatch of goods and must have experience operating counterbalance forklift trucks.

The role runs 20:30–06:00 with hourly rates £14.95–£15.60, and includes benefits such as pension, training, and a supportive working environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy logistics/warehouse environment.
• Counterbalance forklift licence is essential.
• Experience loading international groupage trailers would be an advantage.
• Basic numeracy, literacy and computer skills.
• Ability to function well as part of a team.
• Diligent attention to safety and detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and take initiative.
• Punctual, reliable and professional.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store and dispatch customer goods to SOPs and maintain productivity.
• Unload/load cargo using forklift, pallet truck or VNA MHE, or by hand.
• Load international groupage trailers following loading plans; pick and pack orders for on-time delivery.
• Wrap and unwrap goods; manage stock within the warehouse.
• Check loads for damage or missing items; keep accurate records of goods moving in/out.
• Maintain daily housekeeping inside the warehouse/site.

Job Title: Warehouse FLT Driver (Night shift)

Location: Stoke on Trent

Salary: £14.95 to £15.60 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday - 20:30pm to 06:00am

Key Skills and Qualifications to succeed in this role:

• Applicants must have worked in a busy logistics/warehouse environment before and have previous loading/unloading vehicles and experience of operating Counterbalance Forklift truck.
• Counterbalance Forklift Truck Driving licence is essential
• Previous experience in loading international groupage trailers would be an advantage

Compensation:

18:00 to 22:00 - £14.95 per hour

22:00 to 06:00 - £15.60 per hour

Key duties & Responsibilities:

• The role will entail the efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of all customers' goods to ensure they are received and dispatched appropriately and productivity to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Unloading and loading cargo to and from warehouse and vehicles by using a forklift truck, pallet truck VNA MHE or by hand.
• Loading international groupage trailers in accordance with loading plans Pick and pack orders to ensure they are delivered on time and in full.
• Wrap and unwrap of goods.
• Stock management
• Check loads for damaged or missing items upon receipt
• Keep careful records of everything that comes in and goes out of the warehouse
• Daily housekeeping within the Warehouse and site.
