Job summary

Simarco International is recruiting for experienced HGV Class 2 drivers for a full-time, day-shift role in the UK. The position involves multi-drop deliveries, loading supervision, and route planning to optimise costs. Newly qualified drivers will also be considered.

Qualifications

• Experience of HGV Class 2 driving preferred; newly qualified drivers considered.
• Knowledge of vehicle weights and legal limits.
• Familiarity with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.

Responsibilities

• Delivery and collection of customers' freight to and from various locations.
• Multi-drop deliveries and collections.
• Supervise loading to ensure safety and minimise damage.
• Ensure correct goods and quantities are loaded/unloaded.
• Plan routes for cost and operational efficiency.
• Process Delivery Notes and PODs (electronic/manual).
• Inform Transport Office of delays and changes.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform daily refuelling.

Hours:

Monday to Fridays Only - Full-Time 45 hours per week (Day shift)

N.B. - Newly qualified HGV Class 2 Drivers will also be considered

Key Skills and Qualifications to succeed in this role:

• Experience of HGV Class 2 driving preferred – will also consider newly qualified Class 2 drivers
• Vehicle weights and legal limits
• Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive Regulations/Road Traffic Laws
• Construction and Use Regulations
• Effective communicator and ability to work unsupervised and under pressure
• Flexible approach to hours of work and consistently reliable and dependable

• Delivery and collection of customers' freight as assigned by the Transport Office to and from various locations and regions
• Multi-drop delivery and collections
• Supervise the loading of your vehicle so that products are safely loaded and secured to minimise chances of damage
• Ensure the correct goods and quantity of goods are loaded and unloaded
• Plan you day and route in the most cost and operationally effective manner
• Present, process and return customers Delivery Notes
• Secure and return Proof of Delivery advice notes (POD) electronic and/or manual
• Inform the Transport Office of any delays to or whilst at work
• Maintain your vehicle (inside and out) in a clean and very tidy condition
• Refuel your vehicle daily in accordance with Company Procedure
