Rapier Employment Limited is hiring an HGV Shunter for a busy distribution site in Daventry. The role offers a consistent 4 on / 4 off pattern, with night shifts from 18:00 to 06:00 and a pay rate of £22.41 per hour including holiday pay.

As an HGV Shunter, you will safely move trailers, connect/disconnect them, perform safety checks, and follow C3 system instructions while coordinating with transport and warehouse teams. A strong focus on safety and punctuality is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence is required.
• Minimum 12 months HGV driving experience.
• Previous shunting experience is desirable.
• Good understanding of trailer and vehicle safety checks.

Responsabilités

• Move and position trailers and containers around the site.
• Move trailers on and off loading bays.
• Connect and disconnect trailers safely.
• Carry out trailer and vehicle safety checks.
• Position trailers correctly for loading and unloading.
• Follow movement instructions through the C3 system.

We are currently recruiting HGV Class 1 Shunters for a busy supermarket distribution site in Daventry.

This is a fantastic opportunity to secure long-term, ongoing work with a consistent 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, offering excellent work-life balance and regular hours.

The Role

As an HGV Shunter, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers around the distribution site, ensuring trailers are correctly positioned and ready for loading and unloading.

Duties include:

• Moving and positioning trailers and containers around the site.
• Moving trailers on and off loading bays.
• Connecting and disconnecting trailers safely.
• Carrying out trailer and vehicle safety checks.
• Positioning trailers correctly for loading and unloading.
• Moving trailers between designated areas of the site.
• Using the C3 terminal within the Tug to receive and complete movement tasks.
• Following movement instructions through the C3 system.
• Communicating with the transport and warehouse teams.
• Following all site traffic management and health & safety procedures.
• Ensuring all movements are completed safely and efficiently.
• Maintaining a high standard of vehicle and site safety.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.

• Good understanding of trailer and vehicle safety checks.
• Comfortable working within a busy distribution environment.
• Able to follow electronic movement instructions using C3.
