Job summary

SMT GB is seeking a skilled Workshop Engineer to join the Bruntingthorpe workshop team in Leicestershire. You will service, maintain and repair Volvo Construction Equipment and related machinery, ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard.

You will diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, manage parts and document work in real time while upholding SMT GB's health, safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance or related discipline.
• Experience repairing heavy construction plant equipment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics and electronics.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair Volvo Construction Equipment and other machinery.
• Diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Order and manage parts; ensure timely repairs.
• Complete service reports and maintain safety standards.
• Record time and job information in real time.
