Job summary

SMT GB in Duxford, Cambridgeshire, is seeking a Workshop Engineer to diagnose, repair and maintain heavy plant equipment. You will service Volvo Construction Equipment and other machinery, work to quotations and timescales, and ensure high safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have an engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance or related field, experience with heavy construction plant, and strong fault-finding across diesel, hydraulics and electronics.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance or related discipline.
• Experience repairing heavy construction plant equipment.
• Strong fault-finding across diesel, hydraulics, transmissions and electronics.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair Volvo Construction Equipment and other machinery.
• Diagnose faults and complete service reports accurately.
• Order and manage parts; ensure timely repairs to quotations.
• Keep a clean, safe and organised workshop and follow SMT GB standards.
• Attend product and technical training to stay current on equipment.
