Position Details

20 hours Permanent - 34.5 hours Fixed Term for 1 year

Would you like to develop and enhance your career? Ward 6, Supported Discharge Unit, is recruiting band 3 Healthcare Support Workers (HCSW).

Responsibilities

1. Support the nursing team by carrying out clinical tasks and direct patient care.
2. Participate in administrative duties related to patient care.
3. Promote high-quality, seamless, equitable, and accessible care.
4. Ensure prompt initiation of investigations to support patient management.
5. Work independently on patient discharges and manage them as part of a team.

Qualifications and Skills

1. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
3. Interest in working within an acute hospital setting.
4. Minimum two years experience in an acute hospital environment.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
6. Knowledge of IT systems.
7. Training in clinical skills (vital signs, venipuncture, cannulation, catheterisation) is desirable but training will be provided.

This is a rotational post covering days, nights, and weekends.

Please note the salary is pro-rata to part-time hours, and from 1 April 2024, NHS Scotland will reduce the full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours without changing pay.
