Job summary

Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital is seeking a Receptionist to join our friendly team on a permanent part-time basis. You will welcome patients, answer calls, book appointments and support the smooth running of the department with excellent communication and IT skills.

The role involves shift work across mornings and afternoons, with weekend duties on a 1:4 rota. A background in healthcare administration is desirable, with training provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare administration or on reception.
• Excellent communication and IT skills.
• Ability to explain sensitive or complicated information clearly.
• Welcoming and supporting patients in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Answer the phone, deal with enquiries and book appointments.
• Welcome patients in person, directing them to the appropriate changing or waiting rooms.
• Help people feel comfortable when they visit your department.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure the department runs smoothly.
• Prepare clinical paperwork, referral forms, charge sheets, and terms and conditions.
• Use empathy and customer service to build relationships.
