Job summary

Altum Consulting in Milton Keynes is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day activities, optimise workflows and manage external suppliers in a healthcare setting. You will collaborate with senior leadership on workforce planning, HR processes and system improvement projects, with on-site duties and a 3% on-call allowance added to the £50-£55k base.

Qualifications

• Experience in operations management within healthcare or similar complex environments.
• Proven ability to review processes and implement practical improvements.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and drive decisions.
• Experience managing external suppliers or outsourced providers.
• Knowledge of HR processes including recruitment and onboarding.
• Experience in NHS, healthcare or urgent care settings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational activities, ensuring services run efficiently with proper controls.
• Review and improve processes, streamline workflows, and implement new systems.
• Manage relationships with external suppliers, including HR and IT providers.
• Analyze activity and staffing data to inform workforce planning and capacity.
• Oversee HR processes like recruitment, contracting and onboarding with the external provider.
• Lead operational improvement projects and digital system implementations.
• Support workforce and rota management and cover colleagues when needed.
• Provide hands-on operational and admin support as required.
