Job summary

Serco Limited in Dumfries and Galloway is seeking a Technical Services Manager to lead hard facilities management within a busy hospital environment. You will ensure complex mechanical, electrical and medical gas systems remain safe, compliant and effective to support essential patient care.

You will head a multidisciplinary team, act as technical lead for critical systems, ensure regulatory compliance and audits, and contribute to budget planning and KPI delivery.

Qualifications

• Educated to Degree or HNC/HND level in an engineering discipline.
• Experience in maintenance or engineering management.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.
• Experience leading teams and managing performance.
• Commercial awareness and KPI delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day management of a multi-disciplinary Hard Facilities Management team, ensuring high standards of service delivery across the hospital estate.
• Act as the technical lead for complex engineering systems, including mechanical, electrical, medical gas, fire safety and building management systems.
• Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory and statutory requirements, maintain safe systems of work and managing technical audits.
• Manage maintenance compliance activities, asset condition reporting, lifecycle planning and technical documentation.
• Build strong relationships with NHS stakeholders, specialist contractors, Authorising Engineers and other partners to deliver customer-focused services.
• Support budget management, variation pricing, risk management and KPI performance across the contract.
