Job summary

Serco Limited, at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, seeks a Senior Technician to maintain and improve hospital facilities and engineering systems. You will supervise Building Support Assistants and Technicians, performing fault finding, calibration, and planned maintenance to support safe patient care.

Qualifications

• ONC/HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent building services experience.
• Experience in fault finding and planned maintenance on complex engineering systems.
• Multi-skilled across hospital building services; able to work under pressure.
• Comfortable using digital systems with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Carry out multi-skilled maintenance, servicing, repairs, and planned preventative maintenance across building fabric and engineering systems.
• Diagnose faults and undertake calibration, testing, validation, and commissioning activities on plant and equipment.
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with safety standards and procedures.
• Use CAFM systems and handheld technology for recording activities and data.
• Participate in on-call rota to support hospital operations.
• Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and contractors.
