Circle Health Group's Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield is hiring a part-time Healthcare Assistant to join a dedicated team. The role offers 30 hours per week and a permanent position with a salary of £24,947.00 FTE per year.

The hospital provides compassionate care and a supportive environment for colleagues. You will assist with personal care, nutrition, and daily observations, while coordinating with nurses, doctors and admin staff to ensure safe patient care.

Formación

• Experience in a care or health support role.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care desirable.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting preferences and dignity.
• Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives, creating a caring and safe environment.
• Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels (after training).
• Support basic clinical procedures, including wound care setup, catheter care, pressure area prevention, and mobility aids.
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas, including trolleys, beds, and equipment for patient use.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, and admin teams to support safe and efficient patient care.

We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff.

This is a part - time role for 30 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern, including evening and weekend shifts

Duties Of This Role Include

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting their preferences and dignity.

Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria

• Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
• Ability to follow instructions and escalated concerns appropriately.
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.
