Responsibilities
  • To provide a phlebotomy and cannulation service
  • Welcome and orientate patients and visitors to the department
  • Perform clinical tasks such as blood pressure, temperatures, pulse and oxygen saturation monitoring.
  • Undertake clerical duties as directed by a registered member of staff
  • Assist with clinical procedures
  • Manage patient bookings
  • Inputting patient information onto electronic database / HIVE
  • Prepare equipment/ rooms prior to commencement of clinic sessions/ day case activity by ensuring the relevant equipment/supplies are available
  • To maintain stock levels and ensure stock rotation
  • To ensure clean and tidy work place environment

An opportunity has arisen for a band 3 healthcare assistant to work on the haematology day case unit at Wythenshawe hospital.
We are a busy but friendly team delivering a variety of treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive treatments. You will after training need to be able to prioritise patient care and maintain a high standard of nursing care whilst responding sensitively to the needs of our patients. Good communication skills and the ability to work with the wider MDT are essential.
