Job summary

VIVO Defence Services, Salisbury-based, seeks Head of Technical Compliance to provide leadership across a highly regulated defence contract. You will shape compliance, manage governance and drive assurance for asset safety and statutory requirements.

You will lead authorised persons, oversee safety and regulatory changes, review designs, coordinate audits with BSI/BM TRADA, and ensure CAFM data integrity. Travel across the contract and to sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership in technical compliance, assurance or engineering governance within a complex operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of building engineering systems, infrastructure, health and safety legislation and translating standards into operational controls.
• Ability to obtain/maintain Security Clearance (SC) or higher and a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership, governance and assurance across the contract.
• Lead and manage a team of Authorised Persons and implement MOD safe systems of work per JSP 375 and HSE guidance.
• Review information from external design practices and support acceptance of refurbishments, new builds and major projects.
• Establish an assurance framework, conduct audits/inspections and report performance and risks to senior leadership and customers.
• Prepare for external audits (e.g., BSI, BM TRADA) and ensure evidence and records are robust and auditable.
• Oversee governance around Safety Alerts, Technical Bulletins, Engineering Instructions and Regulatory Change Notices.
