Job description

Are you an education expert? We are currently seeking to represent a motivated Head of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) for a permanent job to start in either October 2026 or January 2027. We are working in partnership with an outstanding, Birmingham based, West Midlands setting (B12) to assist with their permanent recruitment process for this exciting opportunity.

This Ofsted outstanding setting is well established with state-of-the-art facilities available to their staff and students. They have an impressive Library, filled with subject-specific books, a bustling social area for refreshments and a state-of-the-art Sports Hall. Both staff and students thrive in the environment and are led by a long-standing leadership team. The setting offers a wide range of A-Level and BTEC courses and a variety of Adult Learning and Higher Education programmes. In addition, they have strong links with local primary and secondary schools which allows them to offer additional placements to their ECTs during their first years as a newly qualified teacher. They excel at providing a fully inclusive curriculum and as the new college SENCO you will be in a position to set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge SEND students with the support of your own team of professionals. If you have substantial experience as a SENCO but have not yet completed your qualification this may be offered as part of your package. Ideally the role is offered as full time post, however a varied working pattern can be discussed further for successfully shortlisted applicants.
