Job summary

The Bedford College Group is seeking a Head of Additional Learning Support to lead the ALS team across Dunstable and Shuttleworth campuses. You will ensure high-quality, inclusive SEND provision aligned to the SEND Code of Practice and Ofsted EIF, with strong focus on learner outcomes and compliance.

In this senior role, you will oversee EHCP planning, quality assurance, staff development and funding management, collaborating with Local Authorities and curriculum teams to raise achievement and

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in a SEND-related field with a teaching qualification.
• Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes.
• Experience leading ALS/FE teams and driving teaching, learning and support improvements.
• Ability to analyse data, manage funding and compliance requirements.
• Strategic leadership, partnership building and safeguarding commitment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage ALS delivery across the College with high quality, inclusive support.
• Oversee EHCP planning, Section F delivery and learner outcomes.
• Implement QA processes, audits and performance reviews with data-driven improvements.
• Lead ALS staff recruitment, training and performance management.
• Manage High Needs funding, budgets and external partnerships to enhance provision.
