Job summary

The Bedford College Group is seeking a Learning Support Practitioner at Shuttleworth College to support students with additional learning needs across the Foundation Learning and ALS departments.

You will deliver personalised SEND learner support, monitor progress and gather evidence for EHCP reviews, while promoting inclusive teaching and working with staff, parents and external professionals to ensure holistic learner success.

Qualifications

  • Holds a Level 3 qualification in Learning Support, Education or a related field, with Level 2 English and Maths, experience supporting learners with SEND.
  • Strong SEND knowledge and learner support skills; ability to promote independence, resilience, self-advocacy and personal care where required.
  • Good communication and collaboration abilities; works with multi-agency teams to support learner success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised SEND learner support (one-to-one and group) to help learners access the curriculum.
  • Monitor, record and report learner progress; provide timely feedback for EHCP reviews and progress meetings.
  • Promote inclusive teaching and remove barriers to learning; support safeguarding and college standards.
  • Collaborate with teachers, ALS colleagues, parents/carers, therapists and external professionals to coordinate support.
  • Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion and participate in SEND-focused professional development.
