Job summary

The ALS Manager at The College leads on the continuous improvement of SEN/ALS provision, embedding an inclusive culture and ensuring high-quality education for learners with additional needs. You will coordinate with external agencies, families and carers and oversee EHCPs and annual reviews.

You will also lead the creation of learner passports for reasonable adjustments and manage exam access arrangements, while guiding Learning Support Assistants and supporting apprentices in assessment and

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior ALS position within a school/college.
• Degree level qualification in a relevant subject.
• Pastoral and SEND experience with KS4, post 16 or adult learners.
• Experience leading SEND support (SENCO/ALS Coordinator/ALS Senior).
• In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with external agencies, parents and carers; manage consultations, EHCPs and annual reviews.
• Lead creation of learner passports to implement reasonable adjustments for High Needs/ALN students; organise exam access arrangements.
• Engage and inspire Learning Support Assistants and support apprentices through assessment and guidance.
