Job summary

Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is seeking a Head of HR People Services to lead the HR function with strategic oversight of end-to-end people services, data management and HR projects. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Maidenhead, offering a generous annual salary and a broad people agenda.

You will drive transformation, lead payroll and rewards, optimise HR systems, and provide insights to senior leadership within a dynamic local government setting.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading HR operations and services.
• Proven ability to manage payroll, rewards, and benefits within policy.
• Track record in delivering complex HR transformations and system changes.
• Experience leading HR analytics and workforce planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end employee lifecycle services (recruitment, onboarding, payroll, pay and benefits).
• Drive HR systems and data management, automation, reporting, and data-led decisions.
• Promote continuous improvement across People Services and policy design.
• Provide strategic leadership for corporate HR projects within time, scope and budget.
• Support delivery of RBWM People Plan 2030 and HR strategy initiatives.
• Advise senior leaders on people services, workforce data, and reward strategy.
• Develop and present reports, business cases, and cabinet papers.
