Job summary

Viridor is seeking a Head of HR People Services to lead governance, service delivery and workforce analytics across the UK. This 18-month fixed-term role supports the People Plan, partnering with Finance, Technology and business leadership to deliver a consistent, insight-led employee experience.

You will drive scalable HR systems, policies and data governance, visit sites as needed, and shape careers, reward and capability frameworks to strengthen capability and retention in a hybrid working

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience in a multi-site organisation.
• Proven ability as a strategic business partner delivering enterprise People plans.
• Experience establishing governance, cadence, service standards and metrics.
• Strong expertise in HR systems, policy governance and People data.
• Understanding of UK employment law and UK GDPR.
• Experience designing enterprise frameworks for careers, reward and retention.
• Collaborative, with credibility to influence executives.

Responsibilities

• Translate the People Plan into an integrated portfolio with clear ownership.
• Design and improve scalable People services with measurable outcomes.
• Lead HR systems, payroll, benefits, data and reporting in partnership with Finance and IT.
• Establish employment policies and decision frameworks.
• Custodian of people data and governance.
• Maintain assurance and risk-management with leadership visibility.
• Design enterprise frameworks for careers, talent and mobility.
• Align L&D investment to strategic capability needs with ROI measures.
• Shape reward and recognition frameworks aligned to performance.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams with high delivery standards.
• Develop people metrics and workforce insights for decisions.
• Benchmark against market practice to improve effectiveness.
• Create continuous-improvement practices for responsive services.
