Job summary

The University of Liverpool is seeking a Head of IT Infrastructure Operations to ensure high availability and maintenance of data centres, platforms and network environments across IT Services. You will manage a team of infrastructure managers in a matrix organisation.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based at the Liverpool campus, reporting to the Associate Director. The position requires strategic leadership in budgeting, change control and service improvement to support university IT services.

Responsibilities

• Leading, motivating and managing the performance of the Infrastructure team to deliver a professional, customer focused service.
• Defining, implementing and promoting an IT Infrastructure Strategy and strategic roadmap.
• Overseeing day-to-day IT Services, Systems Rooms and Data Centres including environment and platforms.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with senior management and third parties.
• Carrying out performance management of the Operations Team in line with policy.
• Ensuring continuous professional development to enhance skills and cross-skilling.
• Managing planning, monitoring and control to align with ITS strategies.
• Providing coaching and mentoring to Infrastructure Managers to fulfil objectives.
